Flatten PDF — Lock Forms, Signatures and Annotations Into the Page
Flattening a PDF is the step that turns a "still editable" document into a final, locked-in version. Before flattening, a PDF can carry filled form fields that recipients could change, sticky notes that could be deleted, signatures that could be peeled off, and highlights or free-text comments that could be moved or removed. After flattening, all of those elements are baked directly into the page content — what people see is what they get, and the document is safe to send as a final copy.
Our Flatten PDF tool does three things in one pass. First, it updates the appearance of every interactive form field so the value you actually see is what gets rendered, then merges those fields into the page so they're no longer fillable or editable. Second, it removes every page annotation — sticky notes, highlights, free-text boxes, signature stamps, link overlays — after their visible appearance has already been merged into the page stream, so the marks stay visible but become un-editable. Third, it strips the AcroForm catalog entry so PDF viewers stop showing the "fillable form" UI for the document entirely.
The output is a regular, finalized PDF that opens identically in any viewer — Adobe Acrobat, Preview, Foxit, browser PDF viewers — but with nothing left to fill, click, drag, or delete. Text remains selectable, images keep their original resolution, and the page order, page sizes and bookmarks are all preserved. Encrypted PDFs are read gracefully and the flattened output is returned unprotected and watermark-free.
This is the right tool for legal teams sending signed contracts to counterparties, HR sending finalized offer letters, finance locking down quarterly statements before distribution, and anyone who needs to ship a PDF that's truly read-only — without converting it to images and losing text searchability.

Why Use Our Tool?
Locks Form Fields
Filled values become permanent page content. The form layer is removed so recipients can't change anything.
Preserves Annotations Visually
Sticky notes, highlights, free-text and signature stamps stay visible but become un-editable and un-deletable.
Keeps Text Searchable
Unlike image-based flattening, text stays selectable and searchable. Only the interactivity is removed.
Strips AcroForm UI
Viewers stop showing the 'fillable form' toolbar — the document looks and behaves like a finalized file.
Handles Encrypted PDFs
Password-protected PDFs are read gracefully and the flattened output is delivered unprotected.
100% Free, No Watermark
Anonymous users get 100 free uses per day. Signed-in users spend credits. Output is never watermarked.
