Scan to PDF — Phone Photos Into a Clean Scanned PDF

Scan to PDF turns ordinary phone-camera photos into a document that actually looks scanned. The full-color, slightly skewed, slightly shadowed photos you took of a contract, receipt, ID card, lecture notes or whiteboard get auto-rotated to the correct orientation, converted to grayscale, normalized so the paper goes near-white and the ink goes near-black, contrast-boosted with a sigmoidal curve for the punchy "scanner" look, and lightly sharpened so text edges stay crisp. The processed images are then assembled into a single multi-page PDF at A4 page size with clean margins — ready to email, archive, sign, or upload to any portal that expects a "scanned document."

The whole pipeline runs on our server in seconds, so you don't need to install a separate scanner app on your phone or laptop. Snap photos with whatever camera you have, drop them in (drag-and-drop multiple files at once, or pick them in order), and you get back a single PDF with one photo per page in the order you uploaded them. Color photos, screenshots of PDFs, photos of paper documents and photos of whiteboards all work.

Use it when you need to send a "scanned copy" of a paper document but you only have your phone, when you want to deduplicate twenty receipt photos into one expensable PDF, when you want to archive handwritten notes into a searchable-looking format, or when an HR / bank / government portal insists on "a scanned PDF" instead of a JPG. The output is a normal PDF — you can re-run it through our [OCR PDF](/ocr-pdf) tool to make the text searchable, [Compress PDF](/compress-pdf) to shrink it further, or [Sign PDF](/sign-pdf) to add a signature on top.

    How It Works

    1

    Upload your photos

Drop one or more JPG or PNG photos of your document. They'll become PDF pages in the order you upload them.

    2

    Click Create Scanned PDF

We auto-orient each photo, convert to grayscale, normalize tones, boost contrast and sharpen — the scanner look in one pass.

    3

    Download the PDF

Get a single multi-page PDF at A4 size, ready to email, sign, OCR or archive.

    Why Use Our Tool?

    Scanner-Style Output

Grayscale + auto-level + sigmoidal contrast + light sharpen — the same recipe high-end scanner drivers use to make paper documents pop.

    Auto-Orient Phone Photos

EXIF orientation is honored automatically, so sideways photos from your phone come out right-side up in the PDF.

    Multi-Page in Upload Order

Upload many photos at once. Each becomes its own A4 page in the order you picked them — drag to reorder before uploading if needed.

    Smaller Files than Photo PDFs

Grayscale JPEG compression plus A4-fitted sizing typically produces PDFs 3–10× smaller than just dropping raw color photos into a PDF.

    Works With Receipts, IDs, Whiteboards

The enhancement curve is tuned to be flattering to paper, glossy thermal receipts, ID cards and marker-on-whiteboard photos alike.

    100% Free, No Watermark
