WebP to JPG / PNG

WebP is Google's modern image format and it's brilliant at one thing: making files small. The trade-off is that older tools — Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop versions before CC 2022, many e-commerce platforms, certain CMSs, email clients, and older browsers — still don't open it cleanly. When you save an image from a website and end up with a .webp file you can't drop into a document or upload to your shop's product page, you need a converter.

This tool converts WebP images to either JPG or PNG with a single click. Pick JPG when you want the smallest possible file and the image is a photograph or has no transparent areas — JPG is the universal "photo" format and opens on absolutely everything. Pick PNG when the WebP has transparency you need to preserve (logos, icons, screenshots with cut-outs) or when you need a lossless conversion with no quality loss. Both formats are supported by every operating system, every browser, every office suite, and every photo editor going back decades.

Conversion runs on our server using ImageMagick, the same engine that powers professional photo pipelines. WebP files with transparency are intelligently handled: if you pick JPG, the transparent areas are flattened to white (since JPG doesn't support alpha channels); if you pick PNG, the transparency is preserved exactly. You control JPG quality with a slider so you can dial in the right tradeoff between file size and visual fidelity. Most images come out looking identical to the source at quality 92.
