Our Word Counter does the obvious things and a lot of the non-obvious ones. **Words** are counted with full Unicode support, so apostrophes, hyphens, accented letters, and non-Latin scripts (Cyrillic, Greek, Chinese, Arabic) are handled correctly — not split apart or skipped. **Characters** are reported both with and without spaces, matching the two conventions used by social platforms, academic guidelines, and SMS limits. **Sentences** are detected by terminal punctuation (. ! ? …), **paragraphs** by blank-line separation, and **lines** by raw line breaks.
